I've been a long time lurker of these forums and finally have something to share. Yay!  Smiley

This wallet is from Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing book. It's called The No Cash Wallet but the middle pocket is large enough to fit dollar bills if you fold them in half. I'm pretty sure this turned out a little smaller then it should have (there is suppose to be  an edge stitch around the whole wallet but the cards wouldn't fit if I did that). I think it's the perfect size to use for a clutch or to throw in your coat pocket. I already have plans to make more!

Thanks for looking!

So - do you like the book?  I have debated getting that one . . .

I have that book on my wishlist on a paperback swap site as I have seen some of the projects on flicker and they look incredible!

This book is my first official sewing book so I have nothing to compare it to, but I really like it. I'm pretty new to sewing which means the first chapters of the book were really helpful. I think the variety of the patterns is great even though I'm partial to purses/bags/wallets myself. She explains things pretty well and so far the pattern instructions are easy to follow. I've only made this one pattern but skimmed through the rest. I also really like the extra tips she adds throughout the book.

My only wish is if the book had finished measurements for all the pieces listed. There are some patterns that require enlargements on a copier. It's hard when you don't have a copier handy and want to make something. (That's why my wallet turned out a little small, hehe.)

There's a lot of great pictures in the Flickr group for the book if you have time to check it out.
