Hi and welcome to my first blog post for Craftster, hope you enjoy.
What is altered art? After looking and reading the best and most brief definition I’ve found is this:
“The transformation or alteration of ordinary, everyday objects into decorative pieces using a wide variety of different techniques and materials. For example, rubber stamps, fabric, paper, paint and fibers. It can include many artistic styles or genres from Steampunk to Shabby Chic. It’s also describes a way of recycling, and giving new life to all sorts of commonplace and functional (or perhaps even useless) items for ornamental purposes.”
Altered art has a nice little corner here on Craftster, with many talented artists and growing. Any given day you may find clowns, fairies, buttons, flowers, rusted metal, paint and so much more popping up.
