Little girls and warmer weather often equal cute little dresses. Sewing for children can be so rewarding, because it’s easy to whip something up in a short time, and with very little fabric. All the dresses pictured here are made from pillowcases, many found at thrift stores. What a great way to upcycle!

Isn’t this dress adorable? prettyfloralbonnet sewed it up with some stripey purple fabric for a colorful border and some tie on straps.

If you want a fun twist, you can make a little yoke, like on this jumper that pjw3362004 made. What little girl could resist these pretty spring flowers?
Look at this little cutie in her bright summer dress. xperimentl used a contrasting fabric from a sheet to make the collar and hem of this pretty frock.
One would never guess that this peasant dress was once a pillowcase. nemejia shirred the neck and the arms to give it a little more definition. Doesn’t that applique look so cute on the front?
I love the black and white contrast on this numbers dress by ammasmama. The drawstring collar design on this dress makes it a snap to construct. It looks so cute with little capri pants.
