The Scarecrow Costume from Batman Arkham Asylum on CraftsterSince our very own jungrrl is prepping (and sewing!) for her appearance on the new TV show airing on PBS, called Sew it All, I’m happy to take over for our featured video game project of the week!

In the spirit of Halloween, this week we’re highlighting a Scarecrow villain costume taken straight from the video game “Batman: Arkham Asylum”.

Alexandra-the-Great crafted this Scarecrow costume for the Spokane Comic-Con – where she won the award for “Most Authentic” costume! Can we say we’re not surprised…!?

The mask is constructed from burlap and the cruel expression was a feat to pull off, so Alexandra-the-Great listened to H.P. Lovecraft’s audiobooks and then watched “The Silence of the Lambs” and “Hannibal” to help her get into the mood.

The ‘fear-toxin’ gloves are also especially evil, utilizing syringes, bamboo skewers, yellow-food-colored liquid, chrome paint and PVC pipe!
