Mr X Stitch Presents: The Cutting (& Stitching) Edge – Ana Teresa Barboza
|Share the love...||
Ana Teresa Barboza is a textile artist from Peru.
Her portfolio of work is remarkable. In the main she uses embroidery on printed fabrics to play with assorted concepts, but she has also ventured into installation work using a range of media.
From themes exploring the relationship between human and animal, to bodies and clothing, Ana has created a huge range of pieces that provoke all manner of responses.
To spend an hour wandering through the work on her blog is to take a rollercoaster ride of emotion, as she explores lust, pain, death and kittens.
I love the power in her work, the way it makes me feel and the mixture of embroidery types that create texture and form. Ana is firmly on my list of people whose work I wish I owned.
Visit her blog and scroll through her work. You won’t regret it.
