Over at Mr X Stitch we’re blessed with the services of Beefranck, the Queen of Ironic Stitching, who curates the terrific “Emporium of Embroidered Excellence and Splendiferous Stitchery”. Each week, these posts explore themes expressed through embroidery, and they’re ace.
So without further ado, I welcome you to…
Hi everyone! Halloween is coming up, so I thought this week I should take a look at some zombies in stitch. Guard those big brains of yours and let’s get to it!
Ohmygosh! I know, I know, he wants to eat my brains. But this zombie squirrel from Maritza Soto is so darn cute, I just might let him!
Greenlightgo made this zombified Hello Kitty. Hello, awesome!
Let’s step away from the cute with this piece by Rachel Hobson. She modified an existing vintage pattern provided by Floresita, which proves the point that generosity in crafty circles will lead to wonderful things.
This amazing zombie bride pillow was made by Ghost Academy for a zombie themed swap on Craftster. It’s based on the movie the Serpent and the Rainbow. Check out her original post here to see more detail – it’s so worth it!
Okay, let’s wind things down with a little more cuteness… Here’s a zombie mouse created by House of Mouse. I’m starting to think there’s no mouse she can’t create.
Have all these zombies made you a little nervous? Maybe a sampler similar to this one from Jennifer Andrews belongs in your home. You never know – it might work!
Beefranck is the Queen of Ironic Stitching and is responsible for a lot of stuff on www.mrxstitch.com,

She can often be found hanging out on the Phat Quarter on Flickr and co-hosts Emergency Pants, a podcast that is not for the faint hearted!
