You know when you meet someone and they are instantly a kindred spirit? That is Rackycoo. She is creative, inspiring and oh so super sassy! Did I mention how talented she is? Her projects inspire us to reach another crafting level. Let’s find out more about this amazing woman.

How did you find Craftster?
When my daughters were young (aged 11 and 14), they asked if they could swap crafted items with people they had met online. I immediately said no; what sort of mother would give a young girl permission to exchange her address with someone she only knows online?!? And were they crazy, thinking someone would actually send them something back? (My days of failed chain letters haunt me still.)The girls invited me to check Craftster out, and I signed up so I could keep an eye on it (and them). I soon saw that it was a safe and supportive environment. It wasn’t long before I joined my first swap, and the rest is history.

How long have you been on Craftster?
I joined Craftster on April 1, 2005.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I live in Atlanta, Georgia, with my husband and our dog, Stella. Both my husband and I work from home, so we do everything together! My daughters are all grown up now and living on their own. My older daughter just got her MFA and is a book artist. My younger daughter teaches cooking classes at a Children’s Museum, and knitting classes at a yarn store near her.I spend my mornings on Craftster (I’ve been a part-time employee since 2009) and my afternoons in the craft room, mostly working on projects for Alpha Stamps. I’ve been a design team member there for at least the last eight years. I can’t quit it; I love the challenge of having to do a monthly project, and I love getting a kit of free supplies each month!

Your favorite thing about Craftster:
I have two favorite things about Craftster: one is the supportive community and the incredible amount of inspiration I find here, and the other is the group of life-long friends I’ve met.
Any advice for newbies?
Jump on in and start posting! We don’t bite; Craftsters are some of the most supportive people on the internet. After you’ve looked around for a while, try a swap. They’re really fun, and a great way to get to know people better. You can read all about the rules of swapping here: http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html
