Hosting a cookie exchange is a great way to spend time with friends over the holiday season, not to mention the fact that you’ll end up with  a variety of holiday treats! Bake up several batches of your favorite recipe (one for each attendee), and receive other people’s goodies in return. If you’re planning on hosting a cookie exchange this season, here are some ideas to make it fun.

Everyone loves “Christmas Crack” (yummy and addictive chocolate covered toffee pieces), and Mistress Jennie‘s post contains not only the recipe for this decadent concoction, but tip and hints for making the perfect batch.

For a tangy holiday treat, whip up a batch of edelC‘s lemon bars. These are always a favorite at my house.
You and your cookie exchange guests are going to want some refreshments while you’re exchanging those treats! Doesn’t this New Englander’s frozen egg nog recipe by Delirious77 look delish?
If you’ve got crafty friends, pull out some supplies and let everyone enjoy making embellished gift bags, like this one by Stifflersmom. People can either fill them with their cookies, or take them home and use them to wrap gifts later.

Use mouseatethekitty‘s tutorial to make this fun alternative packaging. These reusable cardboard boxes are a wonderful way to present cookies or other gifts.

So gather your friends, put on some festive music, and exchange some tasty treats this season! It’s a fun, laid-back way to enjoy the holidays.
