What could possibly make food any better? Adding science! 

In 2005, McAuliflower posted a recipe for carbonated fruit that uses solid carbon dioxide or dry ice to super cool a banana. Once the fruit is removed and allowed to thaw, a fun summer time treat is created. (Just be sure to take proper precautions when working with the dry ice.)
