TARDIS Umbrella There are a ton of awesome painted umbrellas on Craftster, but I just had to pick this one by MissSadieMae to feature because… because… Dr Who! How could I not? But really, go check out all the painted umbrellas on Craftster and prepare to be amazed! That’s okay, I’ll wait while you do it…
Umbrella Embroidery Did you happen to find this while you were looking, too? What, you haven’t gone looking yet? Fine, but promise to right after you finish reading this, okay? Seriously, great stuff out there! This adorable rainy day embroidery piece by thesarajaneshow is a great example of celebrating umbrella day even if you don’t actually want to go out with an umbrella… (as was the case when this was stitched, during a hurricane…)
Granny Square Parasol And this one is technically a parasol, not an umbrella, but how could I pass up an opportunity to highlight such a great use of granny squares?! Not just for afghans anymore! Besides, it allows people in non-rainy climates to be able to celebrate Umbrella Day, especially if it’s warm and sunny on February 10th were you are! This amazing creation was by babukatorium, who has done several outstanding crocheted parasols.
Rainy Day Painting Another great example of umbrella art, and a twist on the crayon melting craze. There’s a really good (deep) meaning to the painting (go read it!), but you can also just enjoy it because it’s pretty and well done! Done by who, you ask? I’m glad you did – it’s by mezcraft! So very pretty, in a haunting yet joyous sort of way!

However you decide to celebrate Umbrella Day, just don’t open one in the house, unless you’re not the type to believe in silly superstitions…
