Craftster CHA Booth At the end of January Leah, kittykill, and myself were lucky enough to go to Anaheim to represent Craftster for the CHA Craft SuperShow! We had a booth set up to spread the word about C-ster, show off some of the awesome crafts on the site, give away Craftster buttons, and maybe sell a couple of Craftster shirts, too.

We had a fantastic booth if I do say so myself! We were lucky enough to get a lot of different crafts from moderators and members to display for the crowd to give them a sense of what could be found on Craftster. Kittykill, Leah, rackycoo, teapotdnky, PinkyK, superhooker, Stifflersmom, craftydame, sparrow-kin, bigfatroses, sweets4ever, and myself all contributed to the myriad of items on display. Plus we got to print out giant versions of our kawaii characters to put up in the booth!

Our free make and take craft was a 1.75 inch button using our amazing button machine from ButtonMakers.net. Show goers could cut out a pre-made Craftster image or use stamps and markers to create their own design. We made lots and lots of buttons during the show! Cyndi Coon of Lovely Lula and her friend whose name I didn’t get (middle picture) designed some fantastic ones!

We so many awesome crafters and Craftsters! Here are some not so fabulous pictures of some of the very fabulous people we met. First, I got the opportunity to meet Debbie Stoller! She was introducing her new line of awesome yarn: Stitch Nation. Next, we got to meet the amazing Craftster member IamSusie! She was working for the lovely ladies at CraftCritique. The best part about this is that we live probably less than an hour from each other here in the Midwest but met for the first time in Southern California. :P After that another Craftster member, Petuniahead dropped by. I wish I had a better picture of her, she was super sweet! We also got to meet calluna and raeraethejetplane (who gave us a really nice ATC!).

We also made a little sign in sheet so that all the Craftster members could sign in a represent! (Thanks so much to calluna for the idea.) So here’s a little shout out to all the Craftsters who signed in. We had a huge range of members from long-time lurkers to newbies to full on Craftster Goddesses! (If you’re not here I apologize! It meant I couldn’t find your username.)

Of course because it was the Craft SuperShow, besides the awesome people we just got to see some really cool STUFF! Provocraft introduced the Cricut Cake and there was much screaming. Something else I thought was really neat was the Waxmelter Batik Pen from Twisteez. And, of course, this show was filled with awesome paper crafty goodness! I particularly liked the stamps at The Queen’s Ink, and all the cool plants and flowers at another booth whose name I didn’t catch. :/ There was also reeeeeeeally awesome holographic thread from Kreinik.

All in all we had a great time spreadin’ the word of Craftster! Come and see us next time we’re in your town!

  1. yay! it was so nice to meet you guys! and thanks for my sad thimble button. i love it!

  2. Your booth was awesome! And I’m wearing my “Handmade is better” tee to work today (we had a V-Day bakeoff this morning followed by crafting and card making … at a software company!). I do wish there had been more booths like yours at CHA — I found the reams and reams of scrapbooking paper and stamps very uninspiring … and fully expected to see more cutting edge, diverse products. Not all that inspiring for me … so your booth and others like the Crafty Chica were a breath of fresh air! Thanks for being there! – Sue (aka Slim Hippo)

It was so much fun meeting everyone!

  4. IamSusie says:

There was screaming for sure about that Cricut Cake! Paper crafting still leaves me bewildered. Craftster had a great booth! Jungrrl’s felt banner is especially amazing! It was great to finally meet you guys!
