The women behind CraftRevolution.com thought of a great way to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. They have set up a special Etsy.com shop where crafters can donate handmade items and when they sell, the money goes to Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

And I think it’s working out well! I donated 3 items yesterday and 2 of them sold that day!

If you’d like to shop for one of the donated items, go to the Etsy shop:

If you’d like to donate a crafted item, you can contact Tamara at Craft Revolution here:

Thanks for putting up a link Leah! I was one of the lucky folks who scored your skull & needles tee. I’ve also donated 2 items for sale.

It’s such a great way to feel like you are making a difference! Esp when so many of us don’t have lots of extra money to give but have plenty of craftiness!!

that’s a cool idea, thanks for posting it. unfortunate that they’ll only ship to the US though… boo!

Hey, crafty_dame! I’m sure they did that so that the folks offering free shipping wouldn’t wind up eating a lot more cost than they thought they would. But if you see something you really want, think about contacting the creator. I’ve got a few items up there (from http://www.wearwithstyle.com) and I definitely wouldn’t mind offering free shipping abroad. I’ll bet others wouldn’t mind either.
