I just have to take a moment to write about this wonderful event!
This event is a day-long marathon of crafting for preemies. You can bring your own preemie project to work on or purchase supplies right there at the event.
There will be all sorts of fun things including knitting and crafting lessons, a clothing and diaper drive, a Girl Scouts knitting workshop and discussions led by Betty Christiansen (author of “Knitting For Peace”) and NICU nurses. To view the full schedule, please visit their site http://www.thepreemieproject.com/craftathon
If you aren’t in the area (sadly, I’m not!), you can still participate and help. All sorts of donations (financial contributions, supplies, handmade items, cell phone/printer cartridge recycling) are being accepted here http://www.thepreemieproject.com/donate.
Please know that no donation is ever too small for these little ones. For example, one yard of flannel can make several preemie blankets. 🙂 There is a full list of needed supplies on the site. They accept everything from sewing thread to teddy bears. I know I, for one, have quite a few supplies I can donate! 😉
Please take a moment to look over their site. It’s truly a wonderful event.
