For the New Englanders in the house… Have you heard of Craftland? It’s the best idea ever! Craftland is a MONTH LONG craft fair in Providence, Rhode Island where you can buy hip handmade goods by over 120 crafters from the area and all over the country.

They are open for the holiday shopping season from November 20 to December 23: Wed – Sat 10 – 7; Sundays 12 – 5. More details can be found on their website.

Tonight (Sat Nov 20th) is their opening party! I’ll be there with my wallet in tow! Yay!

Update!! Here’s what I ended up buying at Craftland. I really had to hold back! So many lovely crafts…

An adorable felt cuff with a turtle printed on it made by Jen Corace. And a purty felt pin with sparkly sequins by Flying Fish Designs.

And NO I don’t really need yet another handbag but I couldn’t resist this amazing purse made by Molly Mast.

I live in Oakland, California and I wish I could find more fairs like Craftland that provide space for hip crafty folks to sell their goods. Perhaps I’ll have to make that happen myself…

I’m gonna have to attempt a round bag like that!

Is there any way to stop posts that have a clear photograph of a pattern from a copyrighted book? It is really annoying me to see dozens of posts about copying stuffed animals from a Japanese book, as if it is OK because it is in a foreign language, but contains pattern piece outlines and schematics to follow along. Infuriating! More and more people say something is cute, and then yet another page gets scanned and posted in the same thread. :-(

Wow, those were really nice! I really want a purse like that, and those felt-stuff were adoreable. Well, I guess California is a bit too far away from Norway for me to go there and buy it… So I’ll have to make one myself…
