Dr Who Scarf Every Dr. Who fan needs a looooonnnng scarf like the one Tom Baker wore in the classic 80′s Dr. Who. Allyinthevalley learned to knit just so she could make one, and what great job! The Doctor would be proud of this mile-long project! Awesome scarf, Allyinthevalley! Thanks for sharing!

I just started knitting one of these for my boyfriend this morning! He’s all fandom-knitting in the winter – last Christmas he got the Jayne hat from Firefly. I’m knitting based on the http://www.doctorwhoscarf.com tutorial.

I made one a Dr. Who scarf for a friend three years ago. I was surprised how easy it was to find the patterns online. Someone had too many Tom Baker seasons and too much yarn laying around, but I am grateful! I would like to make another for myself.

LOVE the scarf, but how come this isn’t tagged under the “As Seen on TV” category? I almost totally missed it!

Wow! I have never seen this before, have only heard references to it. I did not realize how big and long it is! I can see the attraction, but how does someone only 5’2″ wear something like that! It’s almost a long narrow stole!

I made one a few years ago for a friend, and used this excellent resource:
    http://www.doctorwhoscarf.com/

All I can say is, good luck if you want to make one! I counted up all of the rows and stitches necessary, and it actually is 52,000 stitches. Yes, yes it is.
