By sewing your own coat, you can choose your own pattern, fabric, and colors, to make it classic, romantic, funky, punk, historical, or anything else you can dream up! There are coats made from vellux blankets (mmm…cozy!), faux fur, wool, velvet, and many other fabrics in every color of the rainbow.
If you are hesitant or have questions, our discussions and questions boards are full of people to help you work through it. A coat is an ambitious undertaking, but there’s no need to fear when you have the combined knowledge of thousands of Craftsters to help and encourage you through the process.
Whether it’s a light rain jacket, a warm winter coat, a kid’s coverup or a historical reproduction you want to make, you can get plenty of inspiration and helpful tips from your fellow Craftsters. These are a few coats we love to get you started thinking, or just for a fun browse at what our members have created. Enjoy!
Thanks for the reminder… I’ve got a coat to finish!
