Breakfast To Go
For the second installment of Crafts Gone Bad I bring you this tantalizing fried eggs and bacon get up.
Thanks to Cult 45 Secondhand Bookshop for scanning this pattern in from a 1979 issue of the Jackie Annual.
Come on… you know you want one for yourself!

eww! that’s truly awful. and the sausage thing on her bag looks like a kidney or something. what were they thinking?!
Oh my word. That’s horrendous. The purse would be bad enough, but the hat! THE HAT!
This illustrates what a fine line there is between good and bad crafts. For instance, not too distantly related to this is the toaster purse. Toaster purse = cute and awesome. Breakfast purse and hat = terrifyingly bizarre.
Now I know what I’m going to make everyone for Christmas! hahaha…
SHOCKINGLY AWESOME!!! I sooo have to make this!
oh boy, that is the funniest thing I’ve seen for weeks.
HA! I just saw this in the ‘knitting flowers’ post and decided that I HAVE to make the purse. And bunches of bacon-y barrettes.
That’s HAWT!
*laughs*
That would make an excellent halloween costume.
I made the bag last year for a friend and I just have to tell you, don’t knock it till you try it! The bag was so much fun to make! I giggled through just about every stitch.
Now the beret…that’s a different story.
I have to agree, the bag looks pretty hot, I’d say. Definitely a conversation starter. The bacon on the bag would definitely be better than the sausage, though.
All I can think of when I see the beret is my mom saying, “My hair got so greasy I could fry an egg on it!”
Sick! I love it! I dont think I would have the guts to wear it out and have everyone point and laugh at me, but holy crap, thats hilarious.
“giggled through every stich”
hahaha, i could only imagine.
and imagine what that model was thinking!
and the look and thought of the person whom you would give this to as a present.
I made the hat earlier this year for an installation/performance project. This is the hat I made and this is the online half of my performance.
It’s ace! Everyone should have one!
i honestly do want one!
Fried Eggs and Bacon
Photo from Cult 45 Bookshop Thankfully, I’ve recovered from yesterday’s egg-induced trauma. Thanks to Kelly, I’ve now discovered an alternative to fretting about making eggs — I can wear them: Crafts Gone Bad — Fried Eggs and Bacon Fashion…

actually, i made a crocheted version for a friend a while back. i’m working on another one for her, because she wore the first one out. see, it’s not so bad.
HI ALL.
GOOD blog!
I like your design. Very interesting information.
I just want you to know, that I am going to be making this and wearing it in March. I wish the original pattern was still available, I am going to have to make my own!
If anyone has a copy of this pattern I really Must Have It! I could probably make it on my own but it would be nice to have regardless. Thanks
