They will most likely request proof or ownership for your vehicle (like title, registation, insurance card) to make sure you are the owner. Please note that this 2002 Explorer Sport Trac does have a transponder chip (think security device inside ) in the head of the key. This Ford transponder keys has a circuit or so called chip hidden inside the plastic/rubber head of the key. Most of us are not aware of the fact because the chip is not visible. It is molded inside of the key head. Important: this key will require both cutting and programming to you truck for it to work. It can easily be programmed by a local car locksmith or dealer service department. |
