In a great vintage, they can be spectacular, and 2009 is one of best vintages we've tasted since legendary 2004. This brand new release has yet to be rated, but when it does, watch out - scores are bound to be high. Wine Spectator rated 2009 vintage for Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 94-97 points. James Laube in Wine Spectator writes about 2009 vintage, stating: Napa's biggest money grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, enjoyed same ideal growing conditions until October, when a pair of strong storms dumped enough rain to worry growers. Those who picked before storms were excited about young wine's color, flavor, acids and tannins. But those who waited out deluge faced a mixed bag. One of wineries that gambled was Caymus, which saw both sides of coin. Scarlet color and brackish edges. N Wine Spectator rating: 91. |
