I have my own home for the first time in my life, and I really love it. It has tons of light and really high walls, but those walls are also covered in boring beige wallpaper. Renting doesn't leave me a ton of options, but I made a tree papercut two years ago (has it really been that long?!) for a 12 Days of Christmas swap, and I've always wanted to make for myself since.

Long story short:

It's made from four pieces of a light foam fibreboard and about 5 feet wide by 4 feet tall. I googled for "old tree" because I wanted something that looked windswept and most importantly, had very few leaves. I wound up using this painting. I then drew the outline onto the fibreboard and cut it out. I had a exacto knife but I actually found that simply pressing the pencil deep worked well most of the time, and was also easier around corners.

Here's a close-up:

I drew over this one so you could see more easily where the intersections between the four pieces are:

I was going to use the pencil to make indentations for woodgrain, but decided to leave well enough alone. I flipped the pieces over to hide the pencil marks (that's why it mirrors the painting) and just stuck it up there with copious amounts of scotch tape. Sometimes I think it's a little creepy looking - the black leafless branches kind of remind me of that scene in Snow White where the trees grab at her - but most of the time I really like it.

I know, I know, but what do you call these other than glitter balls?

The glitter's on the inside, so they look nice and don't make a mess!

All you need is:
-clear glass ornaments
-adhesive spray glue
-glitter

Take the hanger top off the ornament.
Hold the glue nozzle up to the opening and spray. Spray enough so there's a little liquid collecting in the ornament. Rotate the ornament to coat the inside.
Sprinkle glitter through the opening, via a funnel or a folded piece of paper. You can put one color on some sections, then pour another color in and rotate to coat the inside.
Let dry, then put the hanger back in!

Hope you enjoy my glitter balls Smiley

I did this for my fiance a bit back in a jewelry class. I used lost wax casting method. The rose, and leaves were all casted separately. Was soldered using various solders. I originally planned to polish it, but the blackened patina has grown on me to say the least. Hope you guys enjoy (and hopefully it being a bit of an older project is not an issue).

Sorry about the pictures size... I'm terrible with computers and such. Anyway, C&C is more than welcome. I'll post the Jack Skellington pendant I made her recently as soon as I can get it away from her for pics.

Also, anybody know why the icon for this post says the image won't show up? Are the images too big still?

Meet Edward the Bat Sock Monkey:

Edward because he is made from a sparkly blue sock!

A close up of his cute little face:

AromaRageST (Zoe) said she knew he was a boy but she didn't name him. But he did let her know that he wanted to be a monster, so she added some bat wings.

Some sushi and a Sapporo before the movies:

Will Bella choose Jacob or Edward? This Edward isn't telling:

I received from Teffy yesterday, and I cannot wait to start using all of my goodies!!

Everything all together

Some amazing fabric pieces (I squealed. a lot.), ribons and trims, snaps, zippers, patterns, some pretty colors of thread, a cute little jar full of buttons (it's the beginning of my stash, I'm excited!), some Asian themed stamps, a long teal bag with silver earring findings, lobster claws, and neato glass beads! Teffy was so sweet and took note of the fact that I love cupcakes and owls, and included an owl bookmark and the cutest little brass owl (he is on my shelf, his name is Wilson  Smiley) and a crocheted cupcake!!

A closeup of the fabric

findings and glass beads, I love the bag, too

She sent 8 of these big, sparkly blue and gold on black buttons that are awesome. My button stash, Wilson and my cupcake.

Love!  Cheesy

Thank you so much Teffy, I am going to have so much fun with all of this!

I am just so thrilled that you like your package, MLS! I love vintage/ephemera things, and can't stand to leave them unappreciated in thrift stores/estate sales etc., but I don't do anything with them! So it makes me happy to see neat things going to someone who will make neat things with them.  Smiley

...and in return, neat things that I will do something with!  Grin
I received from The Sapphire Moon quite a few days ago, and haven't had the chance to post pics! I had to fill 17 orders for sewn/crafted things for my local co-op, and then I caught a stomach bug.  Sad BUT, I love my box, and I can't believe how crammed it was! As soon as I saw how much it was bulging I was excited.   Cheesy

All the loot:

Tons of neat fabric pieces, a big piece of teddy bear flannel, a huge bag of really pretty black/blue/green iridescent beads, wooden beads (LOVE them), two packages of chain (which I really need!), some 36 gauge silver wire (there are a pair of wire wrapped hoop earrings I've been wanting to make, and this is perfect!), some sweet brass heart locket charms, and a whole little baggie crammed to maximum capacity of the most wonderful assortment of beads! Shown here in a box, I couldn't resist dumping them all out to go through them right away.  Lips sealed

Closeup

I had to take a closeup of these wooden beads, they are so beautiful!

I love it all, can't wait to start playing--- thank you so much Sapphire Moon!!

I made a pikachu hoodie for a friend! It took me about 2 days, but it was on/off sewing. Smiley
I feel good using my sewing bones again.
She requested it to be long to mid-thigh, tighter at the thigh, really big in general, and huge hood! I'm happy she loves it!!! <3
Everything was made out of fleece, and I used cable ties in the tail to help it stand up and out! You can wiggle it. There are minor mistakes that annoy me a bit, but overall I'm very happy with it.
